Weekly Favorites 04/07/19 to 04/13/19

Every Saturday, I go through Twitter with #foodblogger and find my favorite food related articles.

These are this week's favorites!

As much as I like complex recipes, there's something about a simple recipe with only three ingredients that just draws me in. Plus, I never met a graham cracker crust I didn't like.
Shrimp and teriyaki are two of my favorite ingredients, and this recipe combines them into one dish with pasta, one of my other favorite ingredients!

This mustard mopped piece of beef looks amazing! I may have to develop a recipe of my own to make this at home!

Butter cookies are one of my favorite cookies. I can sit and devour a tin of those Danish butter cookies. Add some chocolate on top, and I just can't pass it up!

Weekly Favorites 03/23/19 to 03/30/19

It's been a busy few weeks, and I haven't been able to post like I would like. I'm back, and I'll be

posting some new content this week!

Every Saturday, I go through Twitter with #foodblogger and find my favorite food related articles. These are this week's favorites!

I always like restaurant reviews. They give a better insight to local fares for traveling than any travel guide can bring. While I don't have a trip to New Zealand planned at the moment, it's somewhere I've always wanted to go. This gives me something to plan around.

I've been trying to replace beef with chicken where possible lately. That means that I need new chicken recipes. A bonus of this recipe, is that it is all baked in the oven!

I would go to my neighbors' house when I was little and hang out for hours. They were a retired couple. Sometimes for lunch they would make us Sloppy Joes. Funny, those were the only ones I ever really liked. I'm interested to try out this vegan version.

I've always thought that fad diets were just that, fads. Most of the time, the latest trend isn't sustainable. Take Keto for instance. Is your diet sustainable, or is it just the latest band wagon?

I love spicy rice dishes. This looks like a dish I might make for myself on a weekend when the wife and kids are out of town, and I'm left to fend for myself!

Beef Stew, Slow Cooker Style

Beef Stew, Slow Cooker Style
Beef Stew, Slow Cooker Style
Over the weekend we had a free day. We decided to take the kids to the beach before Spring Break hit and things get extra crazy! We had everything we needed to make a Beef Stew, so my wife got out the Crock Pot and got everything ready and had dinner ready for us when we got back!

I wanted to call this Beef Bourguignon, Slow Cooker Style, but I think Julia Child would have rolled over!

The Recipe:

Beef Stew, Slow Cooker Style
Beef Stew, Slow Cooker Style Ready to Eat

  • 1 Pound of Stew Meat, Cut in to 1 inch Cubes
  • 1 Onion, Diced
  • 3 Garlic Cloves, Minced
  • 1 Small Bag of Baby Red Potatoes, Cut in Half
  • 1 Box of Mushrooms, Sliced
  • 1/2 Cup of Red Wine (Optional)
  • 1 Box of Beef Broth
  • Salt and Pepper
  • Oregano
  • Bay Leaf

Once everything is prepped, put it all in the Crock Pot and let it do all the work! Let it cook 6 to 8 hours on low while you enjoy the day!

Happy eating!!
